VolaChem stands for innovation, precision, and responsibility in modern chemistry.
We specialize in the development, production, and supply of volatile specialty chemicals for advanced technical applications – particularly in the fields of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).
Our focus lies on pushing the boundaries of what is chemically possible. Volatile π-azide compounds play a central role in research and development — especially in isotope separation, as well as in semiconductor, microelectronics, and thin-film technologies. Until now, such compounds could only be synthesized under high pressure or elevated temperatures, or were not synthetically accessible at all. This has created a major barrier to innovation in Germany and across Europe, as these substances are currently either unavailable or offered by only a few manufacturers.
This is precisely where VolaChem comes in — with a novel synthesis process that, for the first time, enables the production of volatile compounds in a way that is cost-efficient, resource- and environmentally friendly, and significantly safer. The synthesis can be performed at ambient pressure and room temperature (or under mild cooling), representing a breakthrough in chemical manufacturing.
In addition to custom syntheses on a small and medium scale, processes for large-scale production are currently being developed. At the same time, we are establishing in-house analytical capabilities to ensure the certification and characterization of volatile chemicals. The resulting compound data will be systematically collected in a dedicated database, which will serve as a foundation for consulting services and as a knowledge base for our own R&D activities in the field of volatile compounds.
Our team consists of chemists Dr. Martin Wilken and Dr. Dominik Naglav-Hansen, who bring extensive expertise in inorganic and organometallic chemistry to the development of tailor-made precursor solutions – from laboratory scale to industrial implementation.
We place great emphasis on the purity, stability, and performance of our products and on close collaboration with our partners to tackle technological challenges with precision and creativity.
