Marvin Schuleit presented the results of his thesis on 09.10.2024, and successfully passed the final examination. The title of his thesis is: Laser processing of NiTi wires for actuator applications

The team at LAT (Prof. Andreas Ostendorf and Dr. Ilya Tumkin), together with international colleagues, has published a review in the Journal of Advanced Functional Materials.
The paper reviews new emerging technologies of laser-induced patterning, where micro- and nanostructures are created by chemical reactions triggered by laser light. The reactions on the surface and within chemically active liquids are discussed, focusing on whether the patterns are formed due to photochemical or photothermal processes. 

In the recently published paper “3D micro-devices for enhancing the lateral resolution in optical microscopy”, scientists from various institutions, including Ruhr University Bochum, have developed a new strategy for the production of high-quality micro-spheres using laser-based 3D printing. This approach uses multiphoton lithography, which enables the maskless production of real 3D structures in the micro and nano range. The integration of dielectric microspheres behind the imaging lens of an optical microscope offers a promising solution to improve lateral resolution.
